Enterprising UNT students win business plan awards
Several students at the University of North Texas found out last week that getting an education can literally be an investment in your future.
Five teams of students at the Murphy Enterprise Center presented business plans for their start-up companies to a panel of judges, with the three winning teams taking home a total of $30,000.
The top prize of $15,000 went to Diane Davis, founder of online jewelry store Jewelry Gone Wild, which sells unique items found at garage sales.
Second place and $10,000 was awarded to printing and embroidery company Aloha’6, and computer repair firm Quicktec Consulting nabbed the third-place prize of $5,000.
